In 1995, Selena was shot and killed by her former friend and former manager of her boutiques, Yolanda Saldívar. After Selena’s murder, he began abusing drugs and alcohol.

Christopher Pérez was born in San Antonio, Texas, on 14th August 1969 to Gilbert Perez (Father) and Carmen Medina (Mother). His zodiac sign is Leo. His mother is of Mexican origin and his father is a computer programmer. When Perez was four years old, his parents split, and his mother remarried in 1978.
In middle school, Pérez learned to play the French horn and joined his school’s concert band. Quintanilla convinced his father to let him join the group, which he joined because he knew little Spanish. After his arrest Selena forgave him and he was allowed to stay in the band after her father accepted his apology. Her family tried to track her down after their elopement was announced over the radio.
Abraham’s father eventually accepted the marriage and he rejoined Los Dinos. Selena’s father Abraham found out in 1995 that her friend Yolanda Saldívar was embezzling money from her boutiques and fan club. Selena’s version of “Puede Ser” was unreleased until 2004 when it was added to her compilation album Momentos Intimos.
