Carell was born on 16th August of 1962 in the town of Massachusetts called Concord in the United States. His full name is Steve John Carell and he is the youngest son of an electrical engineer, Edwin A. Carell, and a psychiatric nurse, Harriet Theresa Koch.
Steve Carell grew up in a Catholic family with his 3 older brothers. He received his early education from Nashoba Brooks School and Fenn School. He then finished his schooling at Middlesex School. In 1984, Carell graduated from Denison University. He was the member of Burpee’s Seedy Theatrical Company during his time at the Denison university

During the early career of Carell, he worked as a USPS mail carrier. He quitted his job as he was not good at it and he started performing on stage performances in a children’s theatre company. He then joined the comedy musical, Knat Scatt Private Eye and started making his comedian journey.
Steve Carell also worked as a correspondent from 1995 till 2005 in the American late-night talk, The Daily Show. He made his film debut earlier in 1991 from the comedy film, Curly Sue where he performed as Tesio. He also made his television debut in acting as well as the writer in 1996 with the sketch comedy tv show, The Dana Garvey Show. He also voiced in Saturday Night Live until 2011.
In 1998, he appeared in the comedy film, Tomorrow Night as mailroom guy without glasses and the American dark comedy-drama thriller film, Homegrown.
