Andrew Koponen is a well-educated man with a diverse field of study. He graduated from Livermore High School where he also started his wrestling training. In 1989, he joined Humboldt State University graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government.
In 2005, he joined the University of Phoenix and graduated with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Teaching in 2008. In 2018, he joined the Academy of Art University where he graduated with a Master’s degree in Writing and Directing film.
Koponen also took his police training from Oakland Police Academy in Oakland, California.

Koponen initially started his career as a wrestler which he started during high school. Steve Page who was his high school wrestling coach was his biggest motivator and source of inspiration. With his guidance, he became Bronze Medalist in the 1990 US Olympic Festival, 2x Espoir All-American/Finalist, Greco-Roman State Champion, and several more. He later served as a wrestling coach in Livermore High School.
After graduating from his university, Koponen served in Army National Guard as a mortarman as well as a police officer in Oakland Police Department which was his long-time goal and dream. In 2018, he also worked as a 911 operator for few months. Since 2009, he started working in Security Industry Specialists as Off Duty Officer (ODO).
Andrew Koponen has also been actively participating in several theatrical performances since 2009. In 2011, he portrayed the role of a police officer in the documentary series, I (Almost) Got Away with It. He then played smaller roles in films and tv series like Hemingway & Gellhorn, The Master, Looking, Ant-Man alongside Sebastian Stan, Steve Jobs, Chance, 13 Reasons Why alongside Giorgia Whigham and many more. He will next appear in an upcoming film, Venom: Let There Be Carnage and The Matrix alongside stars like Ellen Hollman, Woody Harrelson, Michelle Williams in 2021.
